History
Brewing started in 1898. In 1939 it was taken over by Mitchells & Butler and eventually became part of Bass. Having been under threat of closure for several years it was purchased by a management buyout in 1995. Taken over during 2000 by Aston Manor. It was sold again to pub company Global Star in July 2007.

Over 10 pubs are owned. Global Star about 100 pubs.
