History

Originally commenced brewing at the Turkey Inn in autumn 1978. Brewing ceased for a period during 1982/3 while major building modifications were made to the building, involving the addition of a hotel and conference centre. The brewery was taken over in 1985 and brewing ceased in 1988. The owner moved to Australia but returned in 1991 to reopen the brewery at its current address.

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for Goose Eye Brewery Ltd on the independent www.beermad.org.uk.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
