History
One of a number of brewpubs that were opened by Scottish & Newcastle PLC, this malt-extract brewery opened in October 1984. It was converted into a full-mash brewery in 1995. It closed in 2001.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries.
