History

The brewery was launched at Scunthorpe Beer Festival in September 2001. The 5 barrel brewplant was sourced from Belgium. At the end of October 2001 the brewery was still awaiting Customs and Excise permission to fully commence brewing. This was expected in early November 2001 and brewing will start immediately. The name of the brewery merely reflects 'the faint hope that money might be made out of the venture'! Brewing was suspended during October 2002 due to family problems.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for Faint Hope Brewery Co Ltd on the independant www.beermad.org.uk.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
