History
Brewing commenced at the Beacon Hotel in the 1860's. By the middle of the 20th Century, the pub and brewery were owned by Sarah Hughes. Brewing ceased in the 1950 but restarted in 1988 by Sarah's grandson, who chose to name the brewery after her. The plant consists of an 8 barrel tower-style brewery.
Beers Brewed
We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for Sarah Hughes Brewery on the independant www.beermad.org.uk.
Regular Outlets
Beers are always available at the Beacon Hotel.
Directions
Sedgley is easily reached by the 558 Wolverhampton - Dudley bus that runs every 8 minutes during the day. Get off the bus at the main bus stop in the middle of Sedgley and walk in the Dudley direction along the main road. Fork left at The Grand junction pub onto Tipton Street and first left onto Turls Street. Take the second left onto Claremont Road and at the end turn right onto Bilston Street. The Beacon is less that 100 yards down this road on the left hand side.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
