History

Brewing in the same place since 1795, this very traditional East Anglia brewer is still very much a family company. The brewery is also famed for a large garden situated behind the brewery, which can also be visited.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for Elgood & Sons Ltd on the independant www.beermad.org.uk.

Regular Outlets

Over 40 of their tied houses supply cask conditioned ales. A list of their pubs is available on their web site. Their beer is also widely available, particularly in East Anglia, in the free trade.

Visit Information

Brewery trips are available by arrangement for groups, but also midweek at 2pm.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
