History
Brewing started in March 1994 under the name South Yorkshire Brewing Company. The name was change to Barnsley Brewery in 1996 to better reflect the main brand. Expansion resulted in the brewery doubling in size to 120 barrel capacity. It was became part of the same company as Blackpool Brewery, this company went into liquidation in April 2002. Brewing continued however. Reported by Sheffield CAMRA as going into receivership for the fifth(!) time in late March 2003 and brewing ceasing with production being transferred to Blackpool.
