A picture of Beartown Brewery Ltd

History

Started brewing in April 1995 based at Eaton Bank Industrial Estate in Congleton. A 10 barrel plant is used. The name came from the fact that old Congleton records show that one of the senior officers of the town in the 13th century was a Bear Warden. Moved to the current address during the summer of 2003.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for Beartown Brewery Ltd on the independant www.beermad.org.uk.

Regular Outlets

Eight pubs are owned by this brewery, all serving a range of Beartown beers. They are listed on the brewery website.

Directions

Exit Congleton railway station from the main entrance and head to the main road. Head down this road going right and follow it down the hill until you reach a set of traffic lights. Turn right here and take the second left, the brewery being on your left just down this read.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
