History

Brewing started in March 1983. A purpose built 3 barrel brewplant is used.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for The Beer Engine Limited on the independant www.beermad.org.uk.

Regular Outlets

The only tied house is The Beer Engine itself. A few other local outlets are supplied.

Directions

The pub is directly outside Newton St. Cyres station on the Exeter-Barnstable branch line, which is served by a very limited service. The 50 bus from Exeter bus station runs half hourly during the weekday and hourly at other times and stop outside the Crown & Sceptre in Newton St. Cyres which is a short walk to the pub.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
