History

Big Lamp started brewing in December 1982 in a former undertakers on Summerhill Street, Newcastle. A self built 5 barrel plant was used. Steady expansion lead to a move to an old Victorian pumping station that was refurbished to include a pub as well as a 10 barrel brewlength brewery.

Directions

The 22 bus from Newcastle Station takes about take about 20 minutes to reach Newburn and runs every 10 minutes during the day, every 20 evenings and Sunday. The bus stops on High Street, by the biridge over the river follow the signs to teh Leisure centre and the pub and brewery are located just past here.
