History

This small brewery was opened in a small outhouse behind one of Plymouth's oldest pubs at the beginning of 1994. The pub was put up for sale in 1996, the plan of the owners being to set up a brewery in the Caribbean. Brewing ceased when the pub was sold in late summer 1996, but it is not known if the plan to brew in warmer climes came to anything.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for King's Head Ale House and Brewery on the independent www.beermad.org.uk.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
