History

First beers were brewed on 24th September 2002, going on sale in early October 2002. During August 2006 a second brewpub, using a 12½ BBL brewplant, was opened at The Malting's Brewery Tap & Westoe Brewhouse, 9 Claypath Lane, South Shields, NE33 4PG. Brewing ceased at the Robin Hood in summer 2008 with all brewing being located at the Maltings and the original 5BBL plant being sold to Blue Monkey Brewery.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for Jarrow Brewing Company on the independant www.beermad.org.uk.

Regular Outlets

The Robin Hood and The Maltings are the best outlet for these beers.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
