Initially founded as part of the brewing course at Sunderland University in 1994, the restrictive size of the plant caused the search for new premises. This resulted in the take over of Hodge's Brewery in Summer 1997 and most production was moved to their plant at Castle Close Industrial Estate, Crook, County Durham. Moved again at the beginning of 2002 to 63 Back Tatham Street, Sunderland, launching there on 22nd March 2002 with the Hodges site closing. A 10BBL plant, previously used at Butterknowle, is used. Moved to their current location in Autumn 2011.
We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website. A crowd-sourced beer list is also available on the Untappd page for this brewery. For historical information, we suggest you also visit the brewery page on the unfortunately no longer updated Beermad.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover all possibilities: Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed, Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation and Local Authority which represents the third tear District level.
