History

Started brewing in July 2005 located at Unit 10 Howard Town Mill, Mill Street, Glossop. The 8BBL plant was supplied by PBC Brewery Installations Ltd. Brewing was suspended due to a serious fire at the premises at the beginning of April 2006 and for a short period brews were commissioned from other breweries such as Hebridean. Brewing re-commenced at their current location on 20th June 2006 and to finish a difficult year they were voted overall winner at the SIBA National Beer Championships in 2007. The brand name Distant Hills is used for "craft" beers.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website. A crowd-sourced beer list is also available on the Untappd page for this brewery. For historical information, we suggest you also visit the brewery page on the unfortunately no longer updated Beermad.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover all possibilities: Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed, Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation and Local Authority which represents the third tear District level.
