History

Founded in 1847 although brewing had been taking place at what is now the brewery tap, The Ship & Bell, for some time before that. A larger brewery was built behind the pub by 1869. In 1896 the brewery was sold but is still owned by the family that brought the brewery. Taken over by Fuller's Griffin Brewery in November 2005, the brewery closed at the end of March 2006 with all production being transferred to Fullers.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website. For historical information, we suggest you also visit the brewery page on the unfortunately no longer updated Beermad.
