History
Founded in 1719. Became Dudgeons Brewery in 1815 and finally Belhaven Brewery when taken over once more in 1972. In recent years a new smaller plant has been installed and Maclay Group plc beers have been brewed here. Taken over by Greene King Brewery during the latter part of 2005.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries.
