History
This famous Shropshire brewpub is believed to have first brewed in the 1642. The current classic tower brewery with a 10 barrel brewlength was built in 1888. The beers were sold under the name Three Tuns. Brewing ceased in September 2001 due to problems with beer quality due to some equipment needing replacing with brewing being carried out by Hobson's. By January 2003 the pub and brewery had been sold as separate entitles and beers were being contract brewed by Salopian. Brewing restarted in the late summer of 2003.
Beers Brewed
We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for Three Tuns Brewery on the independent www.beermad.org.uk.
Regular Outlets
Most of the output is sold in the pub.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
