History
Started brewing in 1834 as Marston's. Following a merger and takeover by 1905 it became known as Marston, Thompson & Evershed Ltd. It was taken over by Banks's Beer in 1999 and became Marston's Beer Company. It is the only brewery left using the Burton Union system however this is now rarely used.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries.
