History

Brewing started under the Everards name in 1849 when a brewery in Leicester was leased. Two breweries in Burton-upon-Trent were purchased and the original Leicester base and one of the Burton plants were closed in 1931. In 1983 they moved to a new modern brewery at the current location and closed their Burton plant, which became the base for Heritage Brewery. Brought the Brunswick in August 2002.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for Everards Brewery Ltd on the independent www.beermad.org.uk.

Regular Outlets

Everards own over 150 tied houses based mainly in Leicestershire and the surrounding counties, but also as far away as London.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
