History

Brewery founded in 1730 in Stepney that became Taylor Walker, following a takeover, in 1816. Moved to Limehouse in 1823 and into the Barley Mow Brewery in 1889. Acquired by Ind Coope in 1959 and closed in 1960. Beer bearing the Taylor Walker name was brewed at the Burton plant of Allied until the mid 1990s.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries.
