History

Founded in 1830, they were originally based at the Victoria Brewery, Hyde Street. Moved to Ardwick Brewery in 1852. Merged with Threlfall's in 1961 and the brewery was demolished in 1966. Taken over by The Whitbread Beer Company in 1967. Production of Chester's beers was transferred around the Whitbread breweries until they were eventually subcontracted to Thomas Hardy Burtonwood Ltd and Everards Brewery Ltd until production of the brand ceased in 1999.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website. For historical information, we suggest you also visit the brewery page on the unfortunately no longer updated Beermad.
