History

First beers appeared at the beginning of March 2003 using the name the John Eastwood Brewery, following John Eastwoods departure from Eastwood and Sanders. The brewery was originally located at Linthwaite Business Centre, Manchester Road, Linthwaite. A beer has been produced under the name Wood End Brewery for a wholesaler. During early 2005 the brewery moved to it's current location using the original Barge and Barrel plant. The name was changed to Eastwood The Brewer in late 2005, following John Eastwood's retirement and then to Mitchell Eastwood in 2006. In January 2008, the current brewery joined forced with Elland brewery and John Eastwood returned once more brewing under the name of John Eastwood Brewery.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for The John Eastwood Brewery on the independent www.beermad.org.uk.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
