History

A follow on from Captain Grumpy, beers started appearing in May 2003, but were at that stage brewed at Captain Grumpy. Production on their own plant, based behind the Bluebell pub on Lynn Road, Stoke Ferry, started in July 2003. During Autumn 2005 a partnership was formed and the brewery became Craftsman Brewery. However in February 2006 Wissey Valley restarted after the split of the partnership of Craftsman, with the plant having relocated during that time to The Clover Social Club, Low Road, Wretton, King's Lynn. The brewery moved to its present location during the later part of 2009. Brewing had ceased by 2012.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website. For historical information, we suggest you also visit the brewery page on the unfortunately no longer updated Beermad.

Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover all areas possibilities: Ceremonial Counties which are the counties for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed, Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation and Local Authority which represents the third tear District level.
