History

Test brews have been produced at Foxfield and Port Mahon since Sept 2001. The first beer from this brewery appeared in July 2003. A 2½ barrel brewplant supplied by Porter's PBC Brewery Installations is used. They purchased the Hillsborough Hotel, Sheffield in March 2004 and also brew on it's plant using the name Wellington Brewery which used to be based over the road from the pub. The pub was sold during 2006 and Edale continued to brew on their original plant on a very occasional basis for local events only for a short period befoere closing.

Beers Brewed

We do not maintain a list of beers brewed by each brewery. There may be a list on the brewery's own website and we suggest you also visit the entry for Edale Brewery Company on the independant www.beermad.org.uk.

Footnote - Since the 1974 local government reorganisation there has been much controversy over many county boundaries. The links we provide cover both possibilities; Ceremonial Counties which are the areas for which a Lord-Lieutenant has been appointed; and Historic Counties (and their allied county boroughs) which represent the position before the 1974 re-organisation.
